Section 14. It shall be the duty of the Financial
Secretary-Treasurer to keep a true and correct account
between the Local Union and its members, to collect all
monies due this Local Union, and deposit the same in
such banks as this Local Union may direct. All monies
deposited in the name ofthis Local Union shall be drawn
out only upon proper drafts and checks signed jointly by
the President and the Financial Secretary-Treasurer.
He/she shall see that this Local Union is kept in good
standing at all times with the Amalgamated Transit Union
and any Central Body with which the Local Union may
be affiliated. He/she shall make no disbursements without
an order from the President.
He/she shall make monthly statements ofall finances,
quarterly statements of all receipts, deposits,
expenditures, balances and deliver his/her books to an
accredited Certified Public Accountant selected by the
Membership. He/she shall furnish bond in such amount
as the Local Union may from time to time require, in
accordance with the General Laws.
In case of the absence ofthe Recording Secretary, he/
she shall perform the duties pertaining to said office until
other provisions are made by the Local Union.
He/she shall act as Office Manager and shall be
responsible for maintaining all Local Union records, to
include financial, payroll, membership, employee, and
voting records.
He/she shall, at the expiration ofhislher term of office,
deliver to this Local Union, or his/her successor in office,
all records and other properties ofthe Local Union that
he/she may have in his/her possession.
The Financial Secretary-Treasurer shall be a full time
officer of the Local Union, and fo! the faithful
performance of the duties of his/her office, and to
compensate for the use of his/her private automobile,
he/she shall be paid top mechanic's pay times 122 hours
bi-weekly. He/she shall receive the same benefits that
full-time represented MARTA employees receive; subject
to section twenty-seven (27). |
