Section 12. It shall be the duty of the Vice-President
in the absence of the President, to preside at all the
meetings and perform all duties pertaining to the office ofthe President. In the case of a vacancy in the office of President, the Vice-President shall fill the vacancy until the President's successor is duly elected and installed as these By-Laws provide for. The Vice-President shall assist the President and the Financial Secretary-Treasurer, and perform such other duties as the Local Union may require. He/she shall be responsible for the handling of all grievances from MARTArail and bus operations and assist in all other. He/she shall be Chairperson of the Grievance Committee.

At the expiration ofhislher term of office he/she shall tum over to hislher successor in office all records, papers, books, keys, or other property of this Local Union that he/she may have in hislher possession. The Vice-President shall be a full time officer ofthe Local Union, and for the faithful performance of the duties of hislher office, and to compensate for the use of hislher private automobile, he/she shall be paid top mechanic's pay times 122 hours bi-weekly.

He/she shall receive the same benefits that full time represented MARTAemployees receive; subject to section twentyseven (27).
